Projects

“Part of an artist’s story, of their experiences, truths, and secrets, are implanted in every work; leaving an invisible fingerprint that may be more tangible than the work itself.
Unknowingly, the artist allows themselves to be seen.”

- Jessica DeMuro Graves

WOMB

A place of wisdom, nurturing, and healing. She is the center of creation, and of destruction, existing in the cyclical rhythm of birth and death. It is here, in this home, where we commune with our first true understandings of self, and connection.

Liminal Healing: Flower Therapy

Loss is a universal experience. It manifests throughout life in various ways, leaving in its wake the debris of emotions our bodies and spirits learn to forge around. Liminal Healing is an on-site installation for Flower Therapy, an exhibition about loss and healing.

BLUE

As with many artists, I found I was searching for ways to express very complicated emotions about the events taking place during the spring and summer of 2020. Without access to my studio space because of state mandates, I leaned on my arsenal of alternative photo processes to satisfy my need to still create. Trusting that there are better ways to arrange our social structures is ultimately an investment in hope, and this piece became a reminder of that hope.

SURFACE

These images were selected from a collection of ongoing self-portraiture examining personal evolution in the present time. These particular works span over a decade, creating intimate dialogue, exploring both the infinite-ness and volatility of transformation.

Mutiny.

Alzheimer’s disease is a slow-moving coup. Dissolving the most inherent parts of the self, this disease disassembles a person from the inside out. The dichotomy between a mind disintegrating and the vibrancy it once had becomes ever more transparent with each day.

Unspeakable

This body of work explores the fragmentation of the psyche resulting from sexual assault trauma. It goes beyond the physical act; addressing the emotional torment that trauma creates inside the mind.
